In October 2007, the Spencer Theater celebrated its Tenth Year Anniversary. We are poised to meet and exceed the needs of our growing community and region. It is our intent to continue to offer the very best in performing arts and theatre to our constituents.
As part of our Tenth Year Anniversary celebration, we are pleased to offer you a unique naming opportunity. Through the “Take Your Seat” campaign, your tax-deductible donation of $1,000 or $2,000 will be used to inscribe a seat plaque with your name, that of a loved one or a company name. All theater patrons who share that seat during the years to come will see your name as they enjoy a live performance.*
The Spencer Theater, constructed in 1997, is one of the most intimate performance spaces in the nation, with no seat more than 67 feet from the stage. Every seat in the Spencer Theater is an excellent seat!
A naming opportunity is not just a vehicle to donate to the Spencer Theater. It is an opportunity for you to show your support and enthusiasm for the performing arts. Your name, your company’s name, or the name of someone you wish to honor or memorialize can be appropriately recognized.
For the “Take Your Seat” campaign, each seat on the main hall floor and balcony will feature a plaque capable of displaying ten names. For a donation of $1,000 for the first year of our “Take Your Seat” campaign, the number one position on the plaque is being offered. Subsequent years of the campaign will offer positions two through ten on the plaque.
For a donation of $2,000 (click to donate), the number one position on a larger, solid wood frame wall plaque for the side gallery seats is being offered. By “Taking Your Seat” now, you can ensure prominent, first place positioning of your name on the seat plaque in perpetuity.
As a non-profit theater, the Spencer Theater depends on your contributions to ensure our long-term growth and stability. Donations to the “Take Your Seat” campaign can be made by cash, check or credit card using the form enclosed, and are completely tax-deductible. You can also donate online at our website: www.spencertheater.com or by calling CHARLES CENTILLI (575) 336-0011.
Thank you, in advance, for your anticipated support of our “Take Your Seat” campaign.
Sincerely,
CHARLES CENTILLI
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
* Please note that this is a “naming opportunity” only, not an “ownership” campaign. You will not have ownership of the seats, nor will you be guaranteed to sit in them for any specific performance.
SECURING OUR FUTURE
“The mission of the non-profit 501(c)(3) Spencer Theater for the Performing Arts is to enrich the cultural lives of community members and visitors by presenting the finest in performing arts.”
The objectives of the Spencer Theater are two-fold:
(1) Through meaningful educational initiatives, community partnerships and a broad, balanced array of quality performances of symphony, music, opera, dance and theatre to broaden the base of understanding, appreciation and support for the arts.
(2) To operate, maintain and endow the Spencer Theater in accordance with the highest personal and professional standards because the arts enhance the lives of all people and are crucial to the development of every society.
The Spencer Theater is at a unique moment in its history, both in terms of challenges and opportunities. Now, perhaps more than ever before, our community needs the inspiration that only the performing arts can provide. We must sow the seeds that will flower and reach a new generation of theatergoers and patrons of the arts. We must flourish and also lead the way.
The Spencer Theater is not resting on its laurels. The financial cost of bringing these great performances to our community continues to grow. The “gap” between ticket income and performance expenses continues to widen. Artist fees alone have nearly quadrupled in the past 20 years.
With the community’s support of our “Take Your Seat” campaign, the Spencer Theater is fully committed to protecting this legacy for our children and future generations. The Spencer Theater is a non-profit organization. We rely on our generous donors to help make the magic happen every year. Our contributors help us to bridge the gap between the funds we generate through ticket sales and budget demands.
We enjoy a stellar reputation in our local community and the industry, joyfully anticipating even more rewarding years of great performances to come. Please come “Take Your Seat!”
